Privacy Policy

Overview

TheVisaTools ("we," "us," or "the site") is built to respect your privacy. Our tools run in your browser, and we are not in the business of collecting or selling personal data. This policy explains what is and isn't collected when you use the site.

Information you enter into the tools

The inputs you provide to use a tool — such as a visa category, country of chargeability, or priority date — are processed entirely in your browser to produce a result. We do not transmit those inputs to our servers, and we do not store them.

Information stored on your device

If you choose a language using the language switcher, we save that single preference in your browser's local storage (a value named tvt_lang) so the site remembers it on your next visit. It stays on your device, is not personal information, and you can clear it at any time through your browser settings.

Email subscriptions

If you sign up for Visa Bulletin email alerts, we collect only what is needed to send them: your email address, the visa category and country of chargeability you select, and, optionally, the priority date you enter. We do not ask for your name, phone number, or any other personal details, and we do not store your IP address with your subscription.

We use this information solely to email you when the monthly Visa Bulletin updates for your selected category and country — and, if you provided a priority date, when it becomes current. We do not sell or share it, and we do not use it for advertising. Subscriptions use double opt-in: after you sign up, we send a confirmation email, and no alerts are sent until you confirm.

Your subscription details are stored in Cloudflare D1, a database run by our hosting provider. Email delivery is handled by Resend, which processes your email address only to send these messages.

You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every alert email. When you unsubscribe, we stop sending immediately and mark the record inactive; we retain the inactive record as a record of your opt-out, as permitted under the U.S. CAN-SPAM Act. If you would like your subscription data permanently deleted instead, email us at contact@thevisatools.com and we will remove it.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting provider may automatically log standard technical information — such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you request — for security and to operate the service. This is typical server activity and is not used to identify you personally.

Advertising and analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which tools are useful and how the site is performing, and we display advertising through Google AdSense. These Google services may set their own cookies or collect usage data (such as your IP address and interactions) under Google's own privacy policy, over which we have no control. You can review how Google handles this data at policies.google.com/privacy and manage ad personalization at adssettings.google.com.

Cookies

This site uses localStorage solely to remember your language preference. No personal data is stored. The site's own functionality does not require cookies; any cookies present come from the Google Analytics 4 and Google AdSense services described above. You can control or block cookies through your browser settings, and doing so will not affect the core tools.

Third-party links

We link to external sites such as USCIS and the U.S. Department of State for your convenience. Those sites have their own privacy practices, and this policy does not apply to them.

Children's privacy

The site is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your choices and rights

Because we do not collect personal profiles, there is generally nothing for us to look up, change, or delete. Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding any data held by our third-party providers — exercise those rights directly with the provider, or contact us and we will help where we can.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page, and the "last updated" date above will reflect the most recent revision.
